One of the keys to a successful Scouting experience for young people, second only to the selection of the right person for each responsibility, is trained volunteer leadership. Leadership training provides adult leaders with fundamental information about the aims and methods of the movement, as well as specifics about their particular roles in Scouting.
For this reason, the Sioux Council is committed to provide top quality training opportunities for leaders, parents and Scouts at the district and council levels. Through these efforts, the delivery of a better and quality Scouting program can be provided to our entire youth membership.
If you are looking to complete your basic position training or update your Youth Protection training, feel free to take some time to complete the training online at www.myscouting.org. Each training takes about 30 minutes to complete. At the end you will need to either add your member ID number to your account or return a copy of your certificate of completion to your District Training Chair or the Sioux Council Office.
The online trainings are located at www.myscouting.org. After logging in, click on "E-Learning" under the "Training" header and select your desired training by program listed below. For Cub Leaders, your position specific training is listed as "Leader Position Specific - [position]," NOT the "Fast Start."
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact your District Training Chair, District Executive, or the Sioux Council office.

Fireside Chat Results
The Sioux Council Training Committee has been hard at work striving to offer the best experience possible to Scouters across the Sioux Council. One method we use is taking the results from the Fireside Chat in each district as a guide for things we can improve.
If you are curious about what we accomplished last year related to the Fireside Chat results, please take a moment to read the following article written by the Training Committee Chair, Sheryl Oliver: Training Committee Progress towards Fireside Chat Results
