Welcome to Sioux Council Boy Scouts

Purpose
The purpose of the Boy Scouts of America--incorporated on February 8, 1910, and chartered by Congress in 1916--is to provide an educational program for youth and young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness, leadership and sense of service to others, all while having fun!

Scout Oath

On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law, to help other people at all times, to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

Scout Law

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

Volunteer and Professional Staff

Volunteers are the foundation of Scouting at all levels.  From the unit to the district to the local council, without volunteers, scouting can't exist.  The role of the local professional staff is to provide support and direction to district level volunteers, who in turn help local unit leaders be successful.

Are you a former Scout or would you like to volunteer to serve youth through Scouting? Please contact us at the number below to help.
