American Red Cross - Wilderness First Aid Training

New regulations at Philmont Scout Ranch requires that at least one person, preferably two,  be currently certified in American Red Cross Wilderness First Aid training.  As a result of this new requirement, we have teamed up with the Sioux Empire Red Cross to offer this training.  If your Troop or Crew plans to attend Philmont in the next couple years, you should attend this training opportunity.  It is recommended in order to attend the Boundary Water and Sea Base as well.

Wilderness First Aid

When:   October 4th and 5th starting at 8:00 AM Saturday to noon on Sunday.

Who:  Anyone 15 and older.

Cost:   $85 per person

Where:   Newton Hills Scout Camp

Registration:  By Sept 12th.  Limited to 12 individuals.

Food:   Food will be provide . 

Things that you will need to bring: 

• Water Bottle
• Tarp
• Cord
• Foam mat
• Paper and pencil or pen
• Tent
• Clothing
• Rain gear
• Any other camp gear you will need for the weekend

*We use all of these items in the course for various first aid situations.
