Lodge Dues

______________________________________________________________________________

 Are your dues current?

When you took the oath of our Order at the conclusion of your Ordeal, you promised on your honor as a Scout to “faithfully observe and preserve the traditions of the Order of the Arrow”. Participation is one of these traditions, and the very basic way of participating is by paying your yearly dues.

Even if you have not become active in the Order, by paying your dues you give many opportunities to those who have. Our total membership number effects our positive growth, sets the number of how many Lodge Arrowmen can attend National events, and how many we can select for the Vigil Honor and other awards.

As of 08/21/10,Tetonwana Lodge assesses annual dues of $10.00 for both youth and adult members. Annual lodge dues help cover the cost of the day to day operation of the lodge and it’s activities. It also covers the annual Regional and National fees assessed to the lodge for each registered member of the lodge. We also make a monetary contribution to the Council for needed items and for Camperships so everyone can experience camping. So we hope you can see how important the paying of yearly dues really is.

You can pay your dues at any lodge function, or send them to the Council office anytime.

Members who did not pay their dues last year or in previous years can reactivate their membership by paying last year’s plus this year’s dues.

We’d like to remind everyone that wearing an OA lodge flap signifies active dues paid membership in a local lodge.

Free OA Dues . . . . . Adopt-an-Arrowman

Does that offer sound to good to be true? Well for any current Arrowmen it is a real possibility. In an effort to increase our participation in lodge events and to encourage active membership from new and existing Arrow-men, the Tetonwana Lodge Executive Committee has created an exciting new program called Adopt-An-Arrowman. Existing members who complete the requirements for the AAA program will be recognized at the 2011 Winter Banquet and have their 2011 dues paid by the Lodge.

This program is quite simple and is a great way for new Ordeal members to be welcomed into our lodge. Any Tetonwana Lodge member who has paid their dues for 2010 is eligible to participate. The program asks an existing member to adopt a newly elected Ordeal candidate for 2010. The existing member then contacts the candidate to encourage them to complete their Ordeal and help to ensure they have transportation to the event by providing a ride to the Conclave or helping to arrange transportation, if the candidate does not already have transportation for the event. After the candidate completes their Ordeal, the existing member keeps in contact with the new member encouraging participation in lodge events and helping to arrange/provide transportation for future events. If the Adopted Arrowmen completes the Ordeal and attends either the Tetonwana Fall Fellowship, C-1A Section Conclave, or the Winter Banquet, then the existing Arrowmen who heeded Kichkinet’s call to help our brothers find the Arrow will have earned their one year free membership and recognition. If you are interested in participating contact your Chapter Adviser for a list of newly elected candidates in your Chapter or contact Lodge Adviser Mike Doss ([Click for member's page]) or get more details at the Spring Conclave/Ordeal Weekend.
