Program Planning

As the school year comes to a close so do the thoughts of winding down the scouting year.  However, to provide you and your scouting program the best advantage going into this fall, each district will be conducting the Annual Program Planning at the April Roundtable.

  • Five Rivers District:                Monday, April 7th
  • Buffalo Ridge District:            Tuesday, April 8th
  • Lewis & Clark Trails District:     Thursday, April 10th
  • North Star District:                Thursday, April 10th
  • Pheasant District:                  Thursday, April 10th
  • Prairie Hills District:                 Thursday, April 10th

The Program Planning will be “significantly” different from the past and will focus much more on “how” to conduct program planning (calendar development / budgeting) and will provide your unit with all the tools needed.  One big change is that the Pack and Troop planning will be conducted separately because the processes are different.  In addition, all district’s have great volunteers lined up to lead these sessions.

Program Planning is literally the most important thing any scouting program can do during the year.  Because of this, it is being tied directly into the Fall Popcorn Sales Commission (3% for attending the Program Planning & turning in a unit calendar / budget at the August Training & 2% for bringing two people to attend the August Popcorn & Membership Training, conducted on the same night in different rooms). For those that don’t sell popcorn, we still strongly encourage your participation at the program planning to receive all the tools you need.

We look forward to have each of you at the Program Planning Sessions this April.
