New Event Travel Policy

National has now gone away with the Annual Tour Plan; however, from a risk management standpoint, we believe it is very important for us to know when and where our units are taking daytime trips to, as well as weekend campouts, when going outside their community. As a result, the Board has implemented the following policy.

New Sioux Council Event Travel Policy

Effective April 17, 2017

With the elimination of the National Tour Plan by the Boy Scouts of America, the Sioux Council Volunteer Board has determined that it is important for us to know when and where Scouts, Leaders and Units are in the event of an emergency. 

 

As a result, the Board has set a policy requesting units to contact the Center for Scouting and provide them with the following information when conducting any overnight campout or daytime function outside of their home community, excluding District and Sioux Council provided programs … 

  • Daytime event/campout date
  • Daytime event/campout location
  • Anticipated number of youth participants
  • Anticipated number of adult participants
