The Sioux Council will be sending a contingent to the 2005 National Scout Jamboree at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia, to a once in a lifetime opportunity. The Jamboree Program is filled with various programs that reflects the skills of Scouting, our national heritage, physical fitness, environmental conservation and the true spirit of Scouting. Daily activities include archery, bikathlon, buckskin games, confidence course, scuba, kayak fun, racing shell, and raft encounters. Our region area include an action center of 10 activities. If this is not enough, then you can see an American Indian village, the opening and closing arena shows, exhibits from all over the nation, and much more. The closing arena show will have one of the largest fireworks display in history.
Scout Attendee Qualifications
A Scout must be at least 12 years of age or completed the sixth grade, and be a First Class Scout by July 1, 2005. Each participant must be recommend by his Scoutmaster and approved by the Sioux Council Jamboree Committee. A Scout cannot attain age 18 before August 2, 2005.
