Philmont 2008 Info

This is the new home for information on the upcoming Sioux Council Philmont Trek.

Wilderness First Aid Training - It is a new requirment for one adult in each Trek to have Red Cross Wilderness First Aid training course.  We are working with Bill Williams and the Red Cross to provide this course to our trek leaders.  This will be a first for the Sioux Empire Red Cross.  Bill has put together some figures, and is looking at dates in May.  We will hold the training on a weekend (since it takes 16hrs) at Newton Hills.  We should have this figured out soon.

Transportation - We secured the bus for the trek.  We will leave out of Mitchell, SD.  Stay in Colorado the first night, arrive at Philmont early on Friday, June 20th.  The bus will leave Philmont when both treks return on July 2nd.  We will stay near Grand ISland Nebraska that night and return to Mitchell the morning of July 3rd.
