Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills - May 30th
The Sioux Council invites you to participate in this-hands on training in the outdoors. This training is designed to help you master the basic skills and lead scouts through Tenderfoot to First Class ranks. New Leader Essentials is required, Scoutmaster Specifics recommended. The course will start Friday evening about 8pm May 30th and continue through Sunday June 1st until about noon. This training will be held at Lake Louise near Miller, SD (Twelve miles Northwest of Miller).

Instructors will help you learn about setting up a camp, cooking, work with wood tools, ropes and lashing, first aid, planning camp events, map reading and hiking techniques, equipment and skills. Each session will bring to life the pages of the Boy Scout Handbook to help you deliver the promise of Scouting. This training will increase your comfort level in the outdoors and give you confidence as a trained, skilled leader. The course also gives you a chance to work with experienced scouts and learn the techniques that work!
