Our Mission . . .
It is the mission of the Boy Scouts of America to prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetime by instilling the values found in the Boy Scout Oath and Law.
Our Purpose . . .
It is the purpose of the Boy Scouts of America to provide an educational program for boys and young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of citizenship, and to develop fitness.

"For just a few cents a day, you can help give a
Scout one of America's greatest experiences."

The Sioux Council receives funding from a number of sources; Popcorn Sales, United Ways, Special Events, Camps and other activities, Endowments, and the Friends of Scouting campaigns.
It's hard to put a real dollar figure on the value of Scouting since its true investment return won't be seen for many years, but it does return. For 100 years, families have believed in and financially supported the values of Scouting. Not only for their own children but the thousands if other children in other families, for generations to come.
The Friends of Scouting (F.O.S.) Campaign is the district's annual fund raising campaign. It's actually three separate campaigns:
The Leadership Campaign, which includes the district leadership, district committee members, and commissioners.
The Community Campaign, which includes local businesses, civic organizations, and private individuals.
The Family Campaign, which is the unit leaders and Scouting families in the district.
The Friends of Scouting Family Campaign
The Friends of Scouting Family Campaign is all about investing in the future values that we want to see returned. Scouting families are great financial supporters and they need to be asked and given the opportunity to make an annual investment.
A District volunteer or professional would like to make a short 7 to 10 minute educational presentation regarding the Friends of Scouting Family Campaign and how it fits into the bigger picture. In the upcoming months, all Packs, Troops and Crews will be asked to schedule a unit presentation. This will provide the greatest opportunity for everyone to hear and see the Scouting story, which is much more than one would imagine.
