Please find attached the May Commissioner Assignment for use with your teams. In addition, please find attached the new Sioux Council Tour Plan/Permit Policy as approved by the Council Board last night. A few of things related to these two items….
1) As always, please discuss the assignment at your next Key 3 and modify according to your district needs.
2) The New Tour Plan/Permit Policy is fresh off the press and as a result the local professional staff have not even seen it yet. We are having a staff meeting on Monday, March 28th and will be reviewing this policy in detail so they can answer questions you or your volunteers may have. This is also being provided as a handout and electronic copy in the April Program Planning Packets/discs.
3) Note that I have not copied the local professional staff on this email. Instead I will be forwarding this email to them but will be removing the Tour Plan/Policy so they don’t jump ahead of things that we will be discussing at our staff meeting or jumping to potential conclusions of interpretations to the plan.

The first is the Recharter Status for each district in the Council showing which units have been posted (in green), which are expected to drop (in red) and a somewhat detailed status of every other unit in the council, whether at a status 5, papers in the office but not posted, or have not started. We encourage each of you to take a look at your district’s specific needs and visit with your local executive in detail to develop a plan of action together because what your team is able to do now to affect rechartering will make a huge difference in the directions and plans for membership growth through the Vice President of Membership and your District Membership Chair/Team.
Next, please find attached 3 items related to the Unit Visit Tracking System. Two of the items are really a “how to” in using the Unit Visit Tracking System for yourself, ADC’s & Unit Commissioners. Please take the time to review if you don’t know how this works and please share with your ADC’s & Unit Commissioners if they are not currently using. As Bill discussed at the last Council Leadership Team Meeting, this is a significant piece of the Journey to Excellence requirement, not only to achieve Bronze, Silver or Gold but to potentially qualify at all.

The other item attached that I would like to draw your attention to, as a resource tool, is a document created and being used in another one of our districts. I believe each of you have expressed concerns at some point about the on-line tracking system and having commissioners that don’t use a computer very well. So here is a tool that those unit commissioners can fill out and hand to either their ADC or District Commissioner so that they can post the information in the Unit Visit Tracking System for them. This is a great tool and we appreciate the opportunity to share it with each of you. However, if you feel that you need to adjust it some, please do use. Make it work for you.
