Five Rivers District      Cub Hibernation       January 11, 2008

And fun was had by all…young and not so young!!

On January 11, 2008 approximately 120 youth and 20-30 adults converged on the YMCA in Pierre.   What a wonderful place to get together for fun. Immediately after the opening flag ceremony, the  boys received a surprise.  Dr. Sanchez  brought two Peregrine Falcons,  Bambi and Lightning, into the gym.  He gave the crowd some information about the birds training and handling, answered questions, and even let a couple of very lucky boys hold one of the birds.  What a THRILL!!

Some of the activities enjoyed were: dodge ball, basketball, flags, swimming, racing pine wood derby cars, and watching a movie.  Wow, I’m tired already!

All of this activity did require a break to refuel; this was done by enjoying pizza and pop.  Domino’s delivered 50 pizza’s - all hot and ready to eat – that is not an easy task, and a huge THANK YOU to Coca – Cola for donating all the pop.

And we can’t forget to say Thanks to Frank Moser, Sr. District Executive and Paul Schoenfelder, District Commissioner for all their hard work.
